It has been a good two weeks in Sweden and Ireland. Not the end results I wanted but big steps forward and they have left me feeling very good about what's in store for the rest of the season.

First off, Bro Hoff Slott Golf Club in Sweden was a fantastic golf course that I really enjoyed playing; a course designed specifically for the Ryder Cup, which for one I hope gets it, as it would make for a cracking encounter. It can be stretched to 8,000 yards which is ridiculously excessive but it does create options. We played it around 7,500 which was much more sensible, especially since it weaves its way around the water on most holes. The last day was brutal weather but overall a very enjoyable week as Stockholm always is.

From there we went on to Killarney Golf & Fishing Club in Ireland where they really pulled out all the tricks and bathed us in sunshine for the majority of the week. I'm pretty sure it was the first time I've ever used sunscreen in Ireland!

The course was refreshing to play, tree lined fairways making you think and shape shots all day long whilst set on the edge of Loch Leane and the national park. I played some really good golf mixed with a bit of very average but the quality of my shots have really improved and the confidence in my driving is improving all the time. It was great to get into contention briefly after a final flurry of birdies on Friday even if I didn't take advantage of it over the weekend.

Lots of positives, mainly how well I am swinging the club now. I feel like I am back to full health and am now able to work as hard as I have always done and things seem to be all coming together nicely.

Its a shame I now have two weeks off as I would have loved to keep playing but it will be nice to catch up with friends and family before a long end to the season. I'm back in action at the Czech Open and then I'll be playing most weeks all the way up to December. The season is only half way through so there is still lots to play for and I cant wait to see what I can do in that time.
