DIARY // JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED! // 30th July 2007

I was confident coming into the Deutsche Bank Championship even after the disappointment of The Open. After getting caught up in the tournament early I kept pace until Saturday when I had the pleasure of playing with Andres Romero who put in an amazing round of golf to distance himself form the field and 7 ahead of myself.

After Saturday my chances had gone, or so I thought. The heavy rain helped slow the leaders and I managed to start climbing the leaderboard early, I had no idea I had a chance of my maiden win as I didn't see a leaderboard until holing out on 18. I was just trying to beat the course. After a gritty par up the last it was time to relax and think about the two weeks in the sun and with an added bonus, I looked up to see my name in tied second with Soren Hanson. As you can imagine, I was a very happy boy!

So a few weeks of water skiing in the states before going to work on my game for a strong finish with Pete, I will be back in action at Gleneagles and am looking forward to it already!
