That's it folks! All done for the
2008 season, I have had a good start
to the 2009 season and it is now time
to relax and get stuck into the fitness
to come out fighting fit in January.
I have just finished playing in Hong
Kong where a 6th place finish left
me disappointed after leading for
most of the tournament. This one felt
more like it was mine than any other,
and it really was. It was in my hands,
I was in the position to walk away
with it the final round but a cool
putter stood in my way before a poor
finish cost me dearly. However, if
at the beginning of the season you
had offered me 11th place on the order
of merit, a Ryder Cup spot and top
50 ranking in the world but no win,
I would have snapped your hand off!
It would have been great to get a
win but it is not the be all and end
all. They will come and the biggest
test now is to not let the media apply
too much pressure and affect me in
my pursuit as it is a very popular
topic when I am around them. They
as everyone has an opinion, but the
truth of the matter is that nobody
really has a clue what the real reason
is apart from me and Rich to what
it is holding me back. Now is not
the time to go into it but maybe when
I have won my first then all will
be revealed!
All of my other goals in 2008 were
broken which was fantastic. I am now
ranked 41st in the world and my focus
this coming year will be to move into
the top 20 as soon as possible. One
of the longest standing goals of mine
has been to play in the Masters. I
have now secured this opportunity
for 2009 which is something that I
cannot wait for. Augusta is my second
home and after spending four years
in college there and living there
for another two it will be an amazing
week and a great opportunity to catch
up with so many people that supported
me and the ASU golf team when I was
there.
I am now on holiday for a few weeks
and won't be back until the New Year
where I will be playing in the Royal
Trophy in Thailand representing Europe
against Asia. I would like to thank
everyone for their support again this
year, thank you for all the emails
and messages and I hope you all have
a great Christmas.
