Well I have been looking forward
to getting back to Wentworth since
last year when I lost in the play-offs
to Miguel Angel Jimenez, which was
probably my biggest result to date
so I was looking forward to trying
to go one better.
It wasn't the normal preparation I
had for a tournament; I had a very
exciting Tuesday. BMW invited me and
Miguel to a track day with Andy Priaulx
who is the World Touring Car Champion.
It was an incredible experience; we
flew into Brands Hatch by chopper
and then raced M3's around the track
for a couple of hours and flew back
in to Wentworth in time for lunch...
a very different day!
Unfortunately when I started playing
on Thursday my golf wasn't quite what
I wanted it to be. I didn't putt very
well and really struggled on the greens,
and that really filtered through my
whole game. I wasn't sharp enough
putting and it left me quite a lot
of work to do. Everything else was
just OK, not fabulous, but good enough.
Needless to say I was very disappointed
to not make the cut and put in a challenge
over the weekend.
Next week I am heading to the European
Open, again in London so not too much
travelling to do so it's like another
home event. Fingers crossed I will
try and do a little better by this
time next week!
