1 HOLE IN 1, 1 2ND PLACE & A PARTRIDGE
IN A PEAR TREE //
18th
December 2007 |
Apparently
Padraig Harrington had 22 second place
finishes before he won his first professional
event, so I suppose there is no rush!
I was very disappointed to not win last
week in Paarl, South Africa as it was
mine to win, and I played well enough
to do so but a poor performance on the
greens on Sunday hurt my efforts. I
have total confidence that the wins
will come, its just taking a bit longer
than I would like. That being said it
was a productive two weeks considering
I was swinging it poor for most of the
two week trip but my short game was
as good as ever to fill in the gaps.
At Leopard Creek I achieved my first
professional hole in one to win 190
cases of Terra Del Capo South African
wine which I have already sampled and
look forward to getting the cases for
the Christmas break. Then last week
my fourth 2nd place on the European
Tour has got me off to a good start
for the 08 campaign.
I have now managed to climb the World
Rankings and at 101 I am knocking on
the door to break into the Top 100 just
in time for the New Year. A good performance
in the Middle East in the New Year and
hopefully I can break into the Top 64
to get into the world events in the
US in March.
I would just like to thank everyone
who supported me last week by calls,
emails and especially the fans at the
course, although they were pulling for
James on Sunday they certainly didn't
leave me out!
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
