DIARY // US TRIP // 18th August 2009

The last 2 weeks at WGC Bridgestone and the PGA Championship have been relatively successful.

The first week I narrowly missed out on being the first person to finish top 10 in all three World Golf Events this year, I guess top 11 was the next best thing. I really struggled at Bridgestone with my game but managed to grind it out and had a good short game which kept me in it and I had a solid week,

At the PGA, again I was struggling the first few days but I actually felt like I had a lot of form and felt that technically everything was in really good shape over the weekend, I just made a few too many mistakes which was a shame. I still ended up finishing my best result in a major, tied 19th, but I was a little disappointed with that which shows how far I have come this year having three top 25 results in a major, so I am relatively happy with that.

Its great news for golf that Y.E. Yang managed to hold off Tiger. The 1st Asian winner of a major ever, which shows how far the Asian tournaments and their players have come. It's great for world golf.

We are now back in Europe for a few weeks before finishing out in Asia which should have an extra buzz about it now after Y.E. winning the PGA.

I'm back at home for the week feeling pretty good about my game, everything is on the right track. Hopefully I can keep that going this week before a three week stretch in Europe where I feel like I have a great opportunity to win but I know I need to go out there with low expectation and just see what happens. If I grind it out like I did these last 2 weeks, hopefully that'll be enough for one of the tournaments.
