Unfortunately I had to withdraw from the Portuguese Masters yesterday after waking up with an inflamed muscle in my neck. It is a problem that I have had for a long time and has caused me problems in a few tournaments over the last 5 years. I thought I had got to the bottom of it this year but obviously it has only improved and not yet been fully cured. After a couple of sessions of physio I decided to try and play, however, after eight holes and much deliberation I decided playing on could only cause further damage as I couldn't swing past half way on my back swing.

I am now at home to see my physio, to rest and start to prepare for the season ending Volvo Masters.
