My two top ten finishes in the World
Golf Championship events have been
a great start to my American swing.
However, this past week in Doral was
very rewarding as it is the kind of
week I need to keep producing to be
where I want in the world. It was
a balance of good and bad golf, but
the quality of my short game held
it all together and I managed to take
full advantage and have my best finish
in the States.
My first and last rounds were very
solid but it was the third round that
kept everything on track. My short
game improved throughout the week
and I managed to grind out level par,
which couldn't have been any lower.
Rounds like that are vital to having
good finishes and now I feel like
my short game is getting back to it's
best, which is the most important
factor in playing well.
I led greens in regulation and sand
saves for the week, which in a top
field like that is just another confidence
boost that allows me to feel like
I can continue to produce tournaments
like this heading into the Majors.
I am now looking ahead to the Masters,
where I will do a bit of practicing
this week before heading down to Bay
Hill for the Arnold Palmer Invitational,
as long as my recovery from the removal
of my wisdom teeth goes to plan!!
