It was great to be back in Augusta,
I had a good time there and it's always
a lot of fun to play in front of my
old team mates and friends again.
It's unfortunate that it didn't go
according to plan and I'm really disappointed
with the result. I felt like I played
ok but I just didn't putt very well
all week. I had a few bad breaks and
bad lies in bunkers that ruined my
chances. On a positive note though
I definitely left feeling confident
about going back next year, I was
surprised how the course played, and
feel like its actually a course that
I could win round and possibly one
that out of all the majors suits my
game the most.
There were a few special moments at
my first Masters that I want to share
with you. One was the Par 3 which
has to be one of the coolest events
in all of golf. I had Rob caddying
for me, squeezed into the trademark
white jumpsuit. I had an average 1
under par score but hitting the pin
on the 9th was a lot of fun to hear
the crowd... I think it was the loudest
cheer I had in my favour all week!
The other was on the practice short
game area. Whilst hitting bunker shots,
Gary Player (playing his last Masters)
stopped and watched me and then came
up and started to ask me about how
I played bunker shots and complimented
me on my technique! Coming from someone
who is regarded as the best bunker
player of all time, was one of the
best moments of my career so far.
The great thing about playing in the
majors is that there is no competition
that highlights your weaknesses like
them. So, I now have 3 weeks to go
and work on them and get it all right
for The Players Championship in a
month. I would like to thank everyone
who came out to support me, it means
a lot.
