DIARY // IN THE MIX // 11th September 2007

After a poor return to the tour in Gleneagles I travelled to Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland, possibly my favourite event on tour. I have been in contention there the past two years and had high hopes of getting back on track. I got off to a flyer playing perfect for two days and managing to give myself a lead going into the weekend. Unfortunately, the weekend didn't go according to plan as I woke on Saturday to find a reoccurring injury in my neck had raised its ugly head and I thought I might have to pull out. Fortunately the guys on the Red Bull physio van managed to loosen my neck after an hour of treatment and I was able to get it around the course and keep myself in contention. On Sunday I played solid but couldn't find the putting touch that had got me into contention and I had to be content with 5th.

That result kept me well in the mix for the Seve Trophy which is picked after this weeks Mercedes Tournament, fingers crossed and a good result will see me in the team to take on the Europeans in a few weeks time!
