DIARY // FRENCH OPEN // 06th July 2009

Unfortunately I was on the early flight back on Sunday from Paris... obviously the weekend didn't go very well especially the last round. It was a shame because I tried hard but my game wasn't good all week. I got off to a good start on Thursday but then ran up a quadruple boogie 8 and never seemed to recover from that.

I fought hard all week and was in decent position at times over Friday and Saturday to get into contention but couldn't seem to finish it off. Sunday was obviously very disappointing and I dropped further down the leaderboard. I started the day well and then it just fell away from me when I started hitting a few loose shots.

I have struggled with my swing most of the week but one positive thing that has come from the French Open is that I have started to putt a lot better which is quite fortunate otherwise I would have had a very very embarrassing score on Sunday.

Everything's feeling a little better than it did at the beginning of last week so I have a couple of extra days now to prepare for Loch Lomond and hopefully I can put on more of challenge. Hopefully by then, if I time it right, I will be in perfect shape for the British Open and maybe the game will be in the same shape as it was for the US Open.

So just heading up to Scotland this afternoon, going to have some physio and do some working out. Fingers crossed everything will be in place for a good week ahead.
