DIARY // A FANTASTIC YEAR // 05th November 2007

I have just finished the windswept Volvo Masters, the final event of the year. Unfortunately I stumbled into a 21st place finish after a disappointing finish on the final day. Overall though it was a steady rookie performance in my first Volvo Masters, which resulted in a 30th place final ranking on the Order of Merit, a big jump from last year's 71st final position.

It has been a fantastic year in which I exceeded my expectations and accomplished most of my goals. The only goals I failed to achieve were winning my first European Tour event and obtaining a position among the Top 100 players in the world, but a consistent year has positioned me on the edge of breaking into the Top 100 shortly. The highlights of the season included two runner-up finishes in Thailand and Germany and being a member of the victorious GB & I Seve Trophy team.

It is now time to take a break, assess the season, and plan new goals for the 2008 season where I will start in December in South Africa.

I plan to have a holiday and enjoy a bit of time off during the next few weeks, whilst working hard on my fitness and swing. Thanks to all the supporters who followed me at the Volvo Masters and throughout the year, and I hope to supply you with an even better season in 2008.

I hope you like the new website, please feel free to send me your comments to info@oliver-wilson.com
