DIARY // US UPDATE // 03rd March 2009

I have been over here in the US now for a little over two weeks so just want to update you on the events so far.

LA was a great event, beautiful location and my first on the PGA tour this year. I felt like I played well but in hindsight my preparation in the UK snow wasnt ideal, flying out to LA early may have made a difference - so much for the British weather! I still went to the Matchplay though feeling confident and positive with my game.

Playing at the Ritz-Carlton golf club in the desert was something that I was really looking forward to. The location and climate really suited me and I, like everyone else, was eager for the return of Tiger to the tour. My game was good I thought ,and I was chuffed with the two big wins against K J Choi and Anthony Kim. On Friday though I should have beaten Justin Leonard but a bogie on the 19th put a stop to that. I was very disappointed to have played so well for 54 holes and then make a silly bogey to lose. But that's Matchplay I suppose. Pity I didn't get a chance to play Tiger but next time maybe.

So far so good though and I am in good shape going into Doral next week, the game is good and i have high hopes for the Blue Monster.

This week I am just going to relax and try and get some practice rounds in at Augusta to get re accustomed to the golf course before the Masters... well I will try when it stops snowing!!
